Oak tree in the mist

Oak alone in the mist

A lone valley oak tree in the morning fog.  This majestic oak is found off of Scott Road just south of Highway 50.  It is in an area slated for development as part of new expansion by the city of Folsom into these lands, with a project size of over 11,000 residential homes, plus a supporting infrastructure of strip malls and its ilk.  I have been photographically documenting this area for the last 12 years, as it is a place that has always been one of my favorite locations in the Sacramento area, and it will be a shame to see it go.

This image and the 25 below are part of an exhibit that I am showing at the Viewpoint Photographic Art Center in the Step-Up gallery, located in midtown Sacramento at 2015 J street.  The title of the exhibit is: Oaks Alone. Endangered landscapes of the Sacramento Foothills..  It is currently on display until April 7th, with the times of the gallery being: Tues - Saturday, 12 - 5 PM.  It is open to the public, so if you are in the area, be sure to stop in and check it out.
